Let’s face it, there are hundreds and hundreds of tiny details to remember when planning your wedding. After 20 years in the wedding decor and design business we’ve compiled a list of the top 10 we’ve helped our clients problem solve last minute.
- Vendor Table – Did you remember to add a vendor table to your room diagram? Your photographer, wedding planner, DJ, and other vendors on-site during the wedding will need a place to sit and eat dinner. Please don’t stick them in the kitchen or in another room. You will want your vendors in the space so they can get involved at a moments notice. If your venue or wedding planner doesn’t provide a room diagram, just design your own here.
- Card boxes – This can literally be anything you want it to be, but please designate a place for your guests to leave their cards. Grab a basket, design your own box, or rent one from us, but please don’t let your guests just throw the card down on a table.
- Verify your linen size – Tables come in all shapes and sizes, so you’ll need to determine which tablecloths will fit your tables the best. There’s nothing worse than showing up on your wedding day and realizing you ordered the wrong size tablecloths. Not sure how to determine which size you’ll need? No worries, we’ve created a cheat sheet!
- Invitation suite for your photographer – Be sure to bring an extra invitation suite the day of your wedding to provide to your photographer for Flat Lay shots. If you’ve chosen us for your personal flowers we actually provide your photographer with a FREE Flay Lay Box of floral, ribbon, and other details that will pair perfectly with your invitation suite.
- Pens for your guestbook – I can’t tell you how many times our clients are scrambling for pens to leave out next to the guestbook because they’ve forgotten to order them in advance. Don’t let this happen to you and browse our Amazon storefront of helpful wedding products before the big day.
- Sentimental pieces – You want to remember someone special on your big day and had been planning this from the beginning, but in the last minute prep you forgot to pack that important piece. To avoid this catastrophe give the meaningful piece to us before the big day and we’ll treasure it and make sure it makes it to the correct location just in time.
- Point person – I’m telling you something will most definitely come up the day of your wedding. There are just too many moving pieces for it not to happen. You need a point person so that you are not fielding every phone call and situation that arises throughout the day. If you are one of our decor clients, you can add on a Day of Assistant Package and let us handle all of the ins and outs of the day.
- Lighters – We’re not typically still at the venue when it’s time to light the candles so you’ll want to designate someone for this (unless you’ve booked the Day of Assistant Package above). Be sure to provide several lighters and several people as the process of lighting candles can take substantially longer than you might think.
- Tip Envelopes – Weddings are a service based industry so don’t forget to tip those that have gone above and beyond for you. Want to know what you should give? Check out our wedding tipping guidelines.
- Cake Knife & Toasting Flutes – These are probably the most common items forgotten on wedding day. Order something custom or grab your parents set, but I think you’re going to want something special for these!
- BONUS – Don’t forget to schedule time in your day for a room reveal. You’ve worked hard on designing your dream wedding. You deserve to see it, admire it and celebrate it before everyone else does!
